Brass Tacks Communications works with clients to structure, create, and share all kinds of content.
Whether you need to redefine your organizational identity, launch a new campaign, or simply advertise an event, we can help. Our first goal is always to gain a thorough understanding of the who and the why of your communications.
From there, we apply our extensive experience working across digital and print platforms to tap into a broad catalog of options for the what, when, and where of your deliverables.
Who’s Behind Brass Tacks?
Brass Tacks was started four years ago by Elysia Kotke and Nick Rebman, two writers from Minneapolis who wanted to tackle new challenges and make cool things. Today, Elysia runs Brass Tacks Communications, while Nick continues to develop the creative side of Brass Tacks Publishing. Our previous background includes work in the industries of publishing, fundraising, and higher education.
As a kid, I would often grab an apple and a book and disappear in the branches of the maple tree outside my bedroom window. I would lose myself for hours between the pages and the leaves. Today, I’m still enamored with stories and their ability to transcend time and space to connect us to new people, places, and ideas.
I’m passionate about enabling organizations and individuals to tell the stories that matter to them. From marketing copy to historical fiction, Instagram videos to graphic novels—I’m always looking for fresh ways that copy can inspire, support, and play with the design, messaging, and audience of any piece.
Our Mission: To tell stories that engage minds, touch hearts, and move us to action.
Without clarity even the most compelling messages go unheard. We believe in getting to the point quickly and eloquently with clear, concise language.
We continually strive to find that place where clients and their audiences can connect on an intuitive, emotional level.
We help you cut through the noise and ensure that the message you send is the message that matters–to you and your audience.
